Choose the ingestion path
Use direct indexing when the caller needs immediate confirmation. Use jobs for large imports, scheduled re-indexing or work that should not block the client.
Document shape
Give every document a stable id, searchable content and optional metadata. Include image input only when the connected embedding model supports it.
